Made reservations for Best Western, just a block away from the 'group' hotel. Just made reservations at La Quinta Golden for tomorrow. Don't know if I can be there at 5/6 but pretty sure, if weather is okay, that I can be there around 6/7. Just don't know if I can make it for supper. I"ll try. I don't have to stop but once to fuel, so THAT will save me 30 minutes. I'll have to head back home.......stay in Denver or near there Saturday night, though. SO after riding South Dakota, I'll start my journey back home that evening. Can't wait to see you all again!!!!!! |

Looks like a go!!!! I just do not know if I'll come up Thursday night or leave around 5am here which is MORE than enough time to be there for when the group leaves. ALSO, as far as sleeping arrangements, I'll probably stay in Hill City at the Bestwestern cause I can use my points. It's only about 12 miles or so from Custer. Easy to meet up with you Saturday morning. SO, I'll let you know when I can leave.....either Thursday or early Friday. Looking forward to it!!!!!! |

I'm still in LIMBO.... My schedule should have been out for the last week of this month but it is held up. I still think I'm okay, but would hate to say YES and then find that I have to work or am on call. I put in to not be on call. I may have to put a new rear tire on just before or after the trip. |

Looking good, here. Should know more this week. BUT the days are open for me except the 28th, on which day I have to attend an educational class for nurses. If I can swing this with the wife......who will not be going cause of work, I'll head up Thursday probably. I COULD leave early Friday and meet up with ya for breakfast since I have an extra hour coming from Central Time Zone. Leave here at 5AM and I'd be there. I'm 95% there, though either day. Hotel, I'm not sure. There are such GREAT places to camp there. I'll check around for site sometime tonight. Of course, they may be full, too since folks will want to see the Buffalo Round Up.I'll let you know this next week for sure. BUT as I said, I'm 95% there. |

Hmmmm. Looks fun. Lemme check my schedule. The roads in the park are GREAT!!! AND the Round up is taking place that weekend. I read about it when we were up there before Coloradical. Sounds like it would be fun to watch. But the roads in the park are fantastic. Dee Dee and I did all of them one day. BEAUTIFUL place!!!! Hmmm....I need to check my schedule...... |

Well, I chaged my mind and went the southern route, rather than up through the northern route. Went out I-40 and up to Monument Valley. Sue, do NOT camp at the site. Find someplace else around there. I hear a good place is making a right turn instead of left into the park. Goulding is the place to go I hear. IF you can get a spot in Arhces National Park, that would be a neat place, too, when you are riding in that area. So many of the places require dirt roads for many miles. I stayed at La Quinta in Moab. Gotta build my points. Sorry a I couldn't help on good camp sites, but for sure stay away from the site at Monument Valley in the Tribal Park. |

I'll be at Sun Honda Thursday morning sometime getting my 4000 mile oil change on my way to Arches National Park/Monument Valley/Canyonlands/Brice Canyon and Zion National Park. I'll probaby stay in Grand Junction Thursday night, then spend Friday/Saturday in Arches and Monument Valley. I figure Monument Valley won't take much time, as I mainly want to get a picture of my bike on the highway that is just outside the park like you see on the calendars. I think that would be a kewl pic.Sunday, I'll be in Montrose to meet up with some friends who moved there. Monday, off to the desert again. Probably over to Zion National Park and work my way back to Southern Colorado, like Durango, as I did not get to ride the million dollar highway on my last visit. ANYWAY, if anyone is out that way, let me know. I'll be camping as much as possible. |
