Clif, I purchased mine at the Lone Star Rally in Galveston 3 years ago. Chris, the owner, was really cool. They are located in Wellington, CO. My speakers sit behind the windshield and sound great. They have upgraded their systems since my purchase but aesthetically the same system. I put the 150w AMP (they have a larger 300W now) in my tool box, couldn't quite get everything wired how I wanted it, called them and spoke with a service tech and he went over it on the phone while I installed, took about another 10 minutes with him on the phone. Great people, great product and great service. Bobby beaux43 Austin, TX |

I made check marks, taped it and used a fine tooth blade on a jigsaw. People thought I was nuts, but it worked fine. I then ran very fine hand sander on the edges to my liking; and it looks like it was almost done bya Pro! LOL! You could take it back to Clearview (same shield I have) or maybe someone has a connection at a glass shop. Most won't cut them unless they no you. |

Larry did an awesome job on my VTX pipes a couple of years ago. So, figured...why not have the Wing pipes done. They both sound great and his fit & finish on the minor fabrication of the pipes is superb. And the best part is his prices are very reasonable. Look him up, give him a call or go by the shop. I have riden my '03 1800R in NM, CO, WY, UT, ID and MT. I have aftermarket pipes and added a PCIII back in '04. I have only messed with it once since and dual mapped it. No problems with elevation or otherwise. As Cliff stated, the stock ECU will make the adjustments to the new pipes, but by doing the pair valve desmog, it will definitely help with the popping. I purchased chrome pair valve covers from "BigLry&Bones" out in CA, and they look great when all the junk is cleaned out from under the tank. Also, you guys did not metion in this thread about the noise db laws in Denver. They will definitely ticket you for pipes that are too loud. "Hiding out in Texas, until I can retire to the Rocky Mt. High!" You guys stay warm! |

OK, I have now put 6,200+ miles on the Kumho rear and the BT-45 front and 5000 of these were while I pulled a Aluma MC trailer. Neither tire looks of wear, the front looks as though it has a few hundred miles on it & the rear looks like I put it on last week. I have no problems with gripping of the road surface. Just returned Sunday from a ride to West Texas/Big Bend (1600 miles total). Yes, I do have to push the lean a little more; and , yes, it will stand-up from the curve quicker, but dang... I would already be looking towards new tires come February if I had the stock D250's or Elite 3's on the Wing. I will definitely try to put the same or a similiar type tire on the 1800 when Spring rolls around in March. I do have Centramatic wheel balancers on the Wing (really sweet, but pricey), but will use Dyna beads on the X (of which I already use in the Metz's). Most Wingers are using beads in there CT's from what I read on the GL1800 board. Cliff...walk to the light!!! |

Yes, no problems at all. I really like the hold on the road that they both give vs. the M/T's. Of course, the jury is still out until around 5,000 miles are logged. |

Yep, 2 yrs ago...VTreX and myself hit heavy sleet in some of the Mt. Passes. It was 42 on Mt. Evans this year, 28 going thru Beartooth Pass in Wy and 38 going thru Logan pass at Glacier NP. Def. watch the weather the week before leaving, even hit the local Weather.com cities (even in the mountains) traveling thru to see temperature & just "Be prepared". |

I just went Dbl. Dark on the Goldwing. I put a Battalax BT45 = 130-80-18 (a rear for some sport bikes) on the front and Kumho Run Flat on the rear. Talk about a smooth ride, I will definitely go Dark on the X once the Metz. need changing. |

I have Metz and dyna beads. So far, so good! A good number love the Cobras down here... Try this site a tire sale, I could have saved about $50 and also had free shipping, they have the beads too. http://.www.jakewilson.com/home.do ****However, if the price is close between here and "Let It Ride", buy local. You will help to keep a local shop open for your group, and also create loyalty from the local group when someone asks you, "where did you buy your tires!" |

Sun Dealership is "Top Gun" in my book! Like Ken, my bike needed new tires and Sun discounted the tires and had them installed while I waited. They pushed me to the front of the line. Also, Sun had an employee that assisted me in the cleaning of my extrememely dirty bike for the "Bike Show" at the M&G. Awesome people at Sun...1st Class!!!!! |

Ok, I will start off. This is my best of the best rides of Colorado: 1. The Million Dollar Highway - Durango to Silverton to Ouray 2. Trail Ridge (via Berthoud Pass, then down Peak to Peak on the way home) 3. Independence Pass (Both ways are great) After that I have a bunch of favorites, but I think I will stop with my top three. -Sue I would recommend the Black Canyon. My personal favorite is from North to south into Gunnison. It is a shame that you guys cannot make the VTX Ride in July listed on the webstie. But my favorite every year, along with the above mentioned is Mt. Evans (alway excited to see if there is any snow up on the Mt. or the summit lake being frozen like last year or herds of Elk below in the valley like there was 2 years ago). It will be my 3rd year to ride and still have not done everything possible. If you can possibly change your dates, I would not want to miss the early part of July and this Ride! Cliff, Carol and the rest of the Colorado VTX RangeRiders are awesome folks! -Bobby |
