This was in the news yesterday. All the radio stations were talking about it.

There is a group of companies that want to privatize roads in colorado that go up in the mountains. This means they want to put a toll so it would cost anywhere from 15 to 30 dollars for (1) ONE round trip on these proposed roads. We need to stop this crap immediately or our rides will definitely be in jeopardy!

No. I haven't rode that area since the flooding. I have been watching forums, news and such on road conditions. Might hit that this weekend and kinda poke around.

When and where was this going to be held? My memory isn't what it used to be. I did get the bearings last week. They are sitting on my table. I think I am going to also pick up some progressive springs to throw in the forks.

US 34 between CR 27 and Estes Park: The contractor began the damage assessment this week. More information to come soon, but the goal is to reopen US 34 in a temporary state by December 1, 2013.

US 34 between CR 27 and the Dam Store: This two-mile stretch of US 34 is scheduled to reopen by the end of September or early October 2013.

US 34 between Greeley and Kersey: This section of US 34 will reopen to traffic in late September or early October 2013 as a temporary road. Paving will occur after the highway opens to traffic.

US 34 between 37th Street to CR 49 in Greeley: This section of US 34 Business will reopen to traffic in early to mid-October 2013.

US 36 between Lyons and Estes Park: The National Guard is working with CDOT to make temporary repairs. The highway is scheduled to reopening by December 1, 2013.

US 36 south of SH 66: The location on US 36 has been closed due to a damaged bridge. The repairs are nearly complete and is scheduled to open to one-lane alternating traffic by tomorrow. This will allow motorists to travel from Boulder to SH 66.

State Highway (SH) 7 between Lyons and Estes Park: The contractor began the damage assessment this week. More information to come soon, but the goal is to reopen SH 7 in a temporary state by December 1, 2013.

SH 39 between Goodrich and I-76 and SH 144 between US 34 and Weldona: The contractor is just now able to mobilize now that the water has receded. More information to come soon.

SH 71 near Snyder: The contractor is just now able to mobilize now that the water has receded. More information to come soon.

SH 72 between SH 93 and SH 119: Repairs are underway and should be completed by the end of November 2013.

SH 119 between Boulder and Nederland: SH 119 is scheduled to reopen in mid to late October 2013.

SH 144 between US 34 and Weldona: The contractor is just now able to mobilize now that the water has receded. More information to come soon.

SH 257 between SH 60 in Milliken to US 34: This section of SH 257 is scheduled to reopen by the end of September 2013.

CDOT will continue to work with local law enforcement and contractors to facilitate resident and property owner access to the roadways during construction, where possible. This will likely include setting established times for access to ensure that construction and repairs can be expedited.

Numerous roads are closed and will continue to be closed until repairs can be made after all the flooding. I wanted to post an ongoing thread to post closed roads, conditions of open roads and update as they are opened.

So far, CDOT is reporting the following as closed:

Frontage road up to idaho springs was fine. Squaw pass was fine except that one section. We came down via indian hills to 285 and that was perfect.

I think we might need to start a thread and sticky it with certain format to easily identify roads and their condition.

Like subject would be Hwy name / location and then condition.. I dunno.. was a thought. I am sure this will be an ongoing issue, so the thread would be good to have and see.

Well, it was good meeting all who showed. Just a note. Squaw Pass is NOT complete. I repeat... It is NOT complete. There is about 2 miles of nasty, dirty gravel. And it is one lane, so we shut the bikes off to wait for all the traffic coming up.

Guanella Pass is paved to the top and about 2/3rds the way down on the other side. It is an amazing ride. Going past the 5 bodies of water.. then hitting the top and usually go down a couple turns and then pull off. Rest and then go back over the top.

Just got word that for the Loveland Rally this weekend, Ryan Hurst (Opie from Sons of Anarchy) is sponsoring the ride. I got this from a third party and haven't confirmed all the details, but Thunder Mountain Harley has the info. I heard 40 per rider, and like 10 for a passenger. Meet and greet after the ride. Just passin the info along.

There are about 5 core riders in our group (work buddies) and about 30 total in the group. Co-workers, friends, friends of friends. The most ever on a run, (Mt. Evans) was 17. But core riders every weekend are in the range of about 3-5 people consistently. The founder of the group labeled us as The Freeriders. You run what you brung kinda thing.

Our group is planning a pikes peak run on Saturday. All are welcome to attend. Be at the gas station at Santa Fe and C470 at 9am if you want to join us!

If anyone is interested, Grand Prix Motorsports is doing a Peak 2 Peak on Sunday the 21st. Meet up is at 8am at Grand Prix at County Line Road and Santa Fe. Kickstands up at 8:30a.
